Artaud

During this lesson on Artaud we Went under the main stage to explore the use of pushing the boundaries to creep people out and keep them on their toes to break away their comfort an security. we did this by having some stand with their eyes closed while the rest made noise around them and touched, poked and stroked to make them feel unease. it only really made me laugh more than feel uncomfortable.

Diary

One:
During lesson today we explored a section of choreography created by Pina Bausch in her show "the rites of spring". using this as inspiration we created our own dance sequence by adapting this sequence to meet the needs of our show. i began to realise how and this line of theatre was as I struggled with this at first.
Two:
During lesson today we split into twos and picked our duologues (Me and Rosie). Because my character sounded like he had gender identity problems the scene picked talked about the two sides of one person.to show this me and Rosie decided together to say the lines together as if it was the female side and male side talking in unison.
Three:
During today's lesson we were gathering stage blocks and other useful set pieces to create the scenery for the play. The scenery in general had to be wacky and out there to represent the setting of an insane asylum while also being a way for us to interact with the audience. we went through several designs before ending with to sets right backstage and left backstage with the audience looking at as from the sides while being on either side of a third set piece.

Absurdism

For this lesson we looked at a segment from the play "waiting for godal" by Samuel Beckett. we created some physical movements that were accompanied with random lines from the segment to help with the idea of Absurdism. The favorite word from the segment that my group used was the "que" because it fit with every movement.

Notes:
"The cost of living": comedic,in sync,speech, (70% movement - 30% voice).
can we talk about this: speech, more movement, teamwork, awareness.
first experience of being an ensemble using our poems at the same time.we felt connected and less embarrassed about what we were saying.
Our task saw us go under stage and around the school to have an idea of spacial awareness and to understand the emotions from a certain area.
